Javan Primate Survey Training that was held on 10-16 August 2017 with Research Center for Climate Change - University of Indonesia (RCCC-UI)
In 2017, Research Center for Climate Change – University of Indonesia (RCCC – UI) held a field course Javan Primate Survey Training at Gunung Halimun Salak National Park (GHSNP). I and the team from "Lutung" Forum Studi Primata University of Nasional consisting of Winda, Ayu, Novi, Eggi, and a team of students from other campuses went to (GHSNP), which is about 90 km south of Jakarta. The aim of the training was how to plan and design primate surveys and to explain the methods used to survey primates.
RCCUI conducted the field course in GHSNP from 12−15 August 2017. They chose the Citalahab – Cikaniki area for our training site because it has an ecotourism center inside the tropical rainforest, and primates are known to occur there, e.g., Javan langur (Presbytis comata), Javan Gibbon (Hylobates moloch), the East Javan langur (Trachypithecus auratus) and the long-tailed macaque (Macaca fascicularis) (Supriatna 2014).
